As one of the largest historic public markets in the country, Eastern Market is a cornerstone of the Detroit community, offering a diverse array of goods from local farmers and artisans. Visitors can find everything from fresh produce and meats to unique handmade items and specialty foods. For year-round visiting, Saturday Market is the place to be with over 220 vendors present from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m. for shopping. Sunday Market is less of a traditional farmers market and more so a street market with artistry, musicians, cooks, and more from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., with additional events happening each week from June through September. Tuesday Market is a smaller-scale opportunity to grab fresh produce, meats, and baked goods in Eastern Market’s Shed 2. Held through September from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., you can also check out the weekly free fitness classes held in Shed 3.
